About Company:
Bourbon Interoil Nigeria Limited, as leading international player in marine services, offers to the most demanding oil & gas clients worldwide a full line of innovative, safe, high performance and new generation vessels and an expanded offer of offshore oil & gas services.
Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned HR Leader to serve as the critical interface between management, our workforce, and organized labor. This role is designed for a "Frontline Diplomat" who can navigate the complexities of a unionized offshore environment while driving strategic business partnering at the departmental level.
Your mission is to maintain industrial harmony and operational continuity. You will be the organization’s focal point for Union Engagement, grievance resolution, and internal communications, ensuring that our people strategy is both legally compliant and culturally aligned. If you possess the "Industrial Grit" to manage collective agreements and the "Communication Flair" to lead organizational change, we want you at the heart of our logistics operations.
Requirements:
1. Industrial Relations & Union Governance
Collective Bargaining: Lead all interactions with labor unions, ensuring that collective agreements are negotiated fairly and implemented consistently across the offshore fleet.
Conflict Resolution: Serve as the primary architect for grievance handling and dispute resolution, mitigating IR risks before they impact operational uptime.
Labor Law Compliance: Ensure every aspect of the employment lifecycle adheres to Nigerian Labor Law and industry-specific maritime/offshore regulations.
2. Strategic HR Business Partnering
Departmental Advisory: Act as a trusted consultant to line leaders, providing expert guidance on performance management, workforce planning, and talent capability.
Disciplinary Stewardship: Oversee disciplinary processes with absolute neutrality and technical precision, ensuring all actions are documented and defensible.
ER Risk Intelligence: Provide senior management with proactive insights into workforce sentiment, identifying potential "hot spots" in employee relations.
3. Internal Communications & Change Management
Leadership Messaging: Develop and deliver high-impact internal communications, ensuring that leadership visions and policy updates are clearly understood at all levels of the organization.
Change Navigation: Lead the communication strategy for organizational shifts, ensuring transparency and reducing "change fatigue" among offshore and onshore teams.
Employee Voice: Manage internal feedback loops to ensure the "pulse" of the workforce is accurately captured and reported to the executive team.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Industrial Relations, or Law. Professional certification (CIPM, SHRM, or CIPD) is a significant advantage.
Experience: 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, with a heavy emphasis on ER/IR and HRBP roles.
Sector Expertise: Proven experience in a unionized environment, preferably within Offshore Logistics, Marine Services, or Oil & Gas support.
Core Competencies
Judgement: Exceptional ability to make fair, consistent decisions in high-pressure disciplinary or union-dispute scenarios.
Communication: Superior verbal and written skills, with the ability to "code-switch" between boardroom presentations and dockside union discussions.
Stakeholder Influence: Strong ability to build trust with both union delegates and senior corporate executives.
