About Company:
We need an Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer to ensure reliable operations of electrical and instrumentation systems in our Apapa Facility.
Job Description:
We are seeking a technically rigorous Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer to serve as the guardian of operational continuity at our Apapa Facility. In a high-capacity industrial environment, success is measured by the absolute reliability of the power systems and the precision of the control instruments. This role is designed for a "Systems Architect", a professional with at least 3 years of Oil and Gas experience who can blend high-voltage electrical engineering with the granular calibration of automated instrumentation.
Your mission is to ensure "Zero-Downtime Infrastructure." You will be responsible for the entire system lifecycle: from the design and installation of complex electrical grids to the troubleshooting of sophisticated PLC/SCADA systems and ensuring total regulatory compliance. If you possess "Analytical Grit" and the technical maturity to manage critical assets in a fast-paced facility, we want you to anchor our engineering team.
Requirements:
1. Systems Design & Asset Life-Cycle
Infrastructural Engineering: Design and oversee the installation of robust electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring they are optimized for the unique environmental demands of the Apapa industrial corridor.
Instrumentation Calibration: Manage the life-cycle of field instruments (transmitters, valves, and sensors), ensuring high-precision measurement and control for all facility processes.
Equipment Optimization: Continuously audit equipment performance to identify "efficiency leaks" and implement technical upgrades that reduce energy consumption and improve throughput.
2. Troubleshooting & Technical Governance
Root Cause Diagnostics: Lead the troubleshooting of complex electrical faults and instrumentation failures, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to minimize mean-time-to-repair (MTTR).
Control Systems Mastery: Oversee the maintenance and optimization of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to ensure seamless process automation.
Safety & Standards Compliance: Act as the primary gatekeeper for regulatory standards, ensuring all installations comply with NEMSA and NEKE requirements, as well as international Oil and Gas safety codes.
3. Operational Synergy & Safety
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the operations and maintenance teams to coordinate scheduled shutdowns, preventive maintenance cycles, and system upgrades.
Risk Mitigation: Conduct regular safety audits and electrical load assessments to prevent system overloads, fires, or hazardous failures.
Technical Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of system designs, calibration certificates, and maintenance logs to ensure a "gold-standard" audit trail.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: B.Eng in Electrical / Electronics Engineering.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience specifically within the Oil and Gas sector (Upstream or Downstream facility experience is essential).
Certification: MANDATORY., Possession of relevant industry certifications such as NEKE or NEMSA.
Core Competencies
Analytical Grit: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex electrical schematics and instrumentation loop diagrams.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Nigerian electrical code and global safety standards for hazardous areas (ATEX/IECEx).
Communication: Ability to communicate technical complexities to non-engineering stakeholders and operations personnel.
