Job Description:
We are seeking a technically rigorous Electrical Design Engineer to spearhead the design, review, and implementation of complex electrical systems for our industrial and construction projects. This role is a bridge between theoretical engineering and field execution, requiring a professional who can design sophisticated power networks and see them through to successful commissioning.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Industrial Electrical Systems—with a specific advantage in cement plants or heavy industry. You will be responsible for ensuring that our infrastructure is high-performing, safe, and fully compliant with international standards and SON regulations. If you are a problem-solver who thrives in a multinational environment and is ready to work across various project sites in Nigeria, we want you on our team.
Requirements:
1. Electrical Systems Design & Engineering
Core Design: Prepare detailed electrical blueprints for industrial plants, including power distribution, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection systems.
Control Systems: Design and integrate control systems that ensure the seamless operation of industrial machinery and processes.
Vendor Governance: Review and approve vendor drawings and technical specifications to ensure alignment with project-wide engineering standards.
2. Technical Support & Multidisciplinary Coordination
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and process engineering teams to ensure spatial and functional integration of electrical assets.
Consultant Liaison: Lead and participate in technical meetings with clients and consultants to resolve design conflicts and optimize system performance.
Troubleshooting: Provide expert technical support during the execution phase, identifying and resolving complex electrical issues during construction.
3. Commissioning, Quality & Compliance
Site Execution: Support the installation, testing, and commissioning (SAT/FAT) of electrical systems to ensure they meet operational design parameters.
Standards Adherence: Ensure all designs and installations comply with SON (Standards Organisation of Nigeria) and applicable international electrical codes (IEC/IEEE).
Documentation & Safety: Maintain meticulous engineering records and support HSE teams in enforcing workplace safety and electrical hazard mitigation.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience: 1 – 5 years in electrical design for industrial or construction projects.
Industry Context: Direct experience in cement plants, power generation, or heavy industry is a significant advantage.
Professional Standing: COREN registration (or immediate eligibility) is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
Software Mastery: Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Solidworks Electrical, or similar industry-standard design tools.
Design Logic: Strong ability to interpret and create complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Mobility: Willingness to travel to and work on project sites across Nigeria.
