Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to enhance our infrastructure and ensure the seamless deployment of applications in Lagos. This role is critical for maintaining our robust on-premise, air-gapped environments. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in Kubernetes, RKE2, Rancher, Linux, and automation scripting, with a proven track record of solving complex deployment challenges in restricted network environments.

Requirements:

• Cluster Management: Implement, manage, and scale Kubernetes clusters using RKE2 and Rancher to ensure high availability and security.

• Infrastructure Optimization: Maintain and optimize on-premise air-gapped environments, proactively addressing the unique constraints of restricted network access.

• CI/CD & Automation: Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline release processes; develop and maintain advanced scripts (Shell/Python) for system automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

• Incident Resolution: Work cross-functionally to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, resolve infrastructure incidents, and improve overall system reliability.

• Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce strict security best practices, ensuring all infrastructure aligns with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

• Strategic Planning: Design infrastructure solutions that scale with project requirements and stay current with emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience: 3–6 years of hands-on experience in a DevOps Engineering role.

• Core Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in Kubernetes, RKE2, and Rancher within production-grade environments.

  • Proficiency in Linux administration and Oracle database management.

  • Strong scripting capabilities (Shell, Python) for workflow automation.

  • Proven success managing on-premise air-gapped environments and related security challenges.

  • Solid understanding of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management tools.

• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication, and a demonstrated commitment to exceeding stakeholder expectations and delivering high-quality results.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

• Exceptional team collaboration and cross-functional project experience.
