Job Description:
We are seeking a diligent and analytical Credit Control Officer to manage our credit and receivable processes. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts, monitoring customer accounts, and reducing bad debt risks. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with a background in credit control, ideally within the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.
Requirements:
Debt Recovery & Monitoring:
Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments.
Proactively follow up on overdue accounts via calls, emails, and official correspondence.
Reduce overdue debts and improve cash flow through effective recovery strategies.
Financial Reporting & Reconciliation:
Prepare ageing analysis reports and provide regular updates on receivables.
Reconcile customer statements and resolve payment discrepancies.
Prepare weekly and monthly debt recovery reports for management review.
Monitor post-dated cheques and payment schedules.
Credit Administration:
Review customer credit limits and recommend necessary adjustments.
Ensure strict compliance with company credit policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate records of all customer transactions, payments, and recovery activities.
Collaboration & Dispute Resolution:
Liaise with Sales and Finance departments to resolve billing or payment issues.
Investigate and resolve disputed invoices or account irregularities.
Support the preparation of financial reports related to collections.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Credit Control, Accounts Receivable, or a related finance role.
Industry Advantage: Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company is highly preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) is mandatory; experience with accounting software or ERP systems is an added advantage.
Core Competencies: Strong analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills; excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
Personal Attributes: High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail; ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
