Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber Cost Accountant to serve as the financial architect of our operations in Ondo. In the plantation and processing sector—specifically within oil palm operations, profitability is won or lost in the field and the mill. This role is designed for a "Strategic Controller", a professional with 7–10 years of experience who can blend rigorous cost accounting with deep operational insights into yield analysis and production efficiency.

Your mission is to ensure "Fiscal Precision from Farm to Factory." You will be responsible for the entire cost lifecycle: from developing complex financial models and tracking indirect plantation costs to optimizing inventory levels and conducting sensitivity analyses. Requirements:

1. Cost Architecture & Process Engineering

• Systems Development: Design and implement robust cost accounting systems tailored for plantation and processing environments, utilizing Standard Costing and Process Costing methodologies.

• Yield & Efficiency Analysis: Analyze production costing and yield metrics specifically for oil palm operations, identifying variances and recommending process improvements to enhance output.

• Direct & Indirect Tracking: Meticulously track and analyze both direct field costs (labor, fertilizer, harvesting) and indirect overheads to ensure accurate margin reporting.

2. Strategic Budgeting & Inventory Governance

• Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models and forecasts to support long-term strategic initiatives and plantation expansion.

• Inventory Optimization: Implement advanced inventory management systems to track and analyze stock levels (FFB, CPO, spare parts), identifying strategies to reduce carrying costs and shrinkage.

• Variance Stewardship: Conduct deep-dive variance analysis on budgets vs. actuals, providing senior management with actionable insights into overruns or efficiency gains.

3. Risk Mitigation & Stakeholder Synergy

• Compliance & Controls: Ensure 100% adherence to IFRS and local accounting standards while identifying and mitigating financial risks within the supply chain.

• Cross-Functional Support: Provide financial mentorship to non-financial stakeholders in operations and procurement, translating complex data into clear operational goals.

• Management Reporting: Supervise and mentor the cost accounting team, ensuring all financial statements and "Special Study" reports are delivered with a high level of attention to detail.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.

• Experience: 7 – 10 years in cost accounting, with a mandatory background in Agriculture, Manufacturing, FMCG, or Plantation operations.

• Technical Mastery: Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation across Farm, Mill, and Logistics.

• Certifications: Professional qualification (or being at the final stages) of ICAN, ACCA, or CIMA is a significant advantage.
