Job Description:

We are seeking a highly technical, analytical, and solution-driven Core Banking Officer to join our growing digital microfinance bank. You will play a pivotal role in the inception and management of our core banking structure, ensuring the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of our banking operations.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving digital banking integrations, system administration, and transaction processing. If you thrive in a fintech-driven environment and have a proven track record of building operational support frameworks from the ground up, we want to hear from you.

Requirements:

• Core Banking Administration: Manage and administer the Core Banking Application (CBA), including product configurations, GL mappings, workflows, and transaction rules.

• Operational Structure Development: Support the establishment of banking operational frameworks, developing SOPs, process documentation, and robust internal controls.

• Digital & Payment Integration: Oversee integrations for mobile banking, USSD, POS, cards, and payment gateways. Monitor transaction flows across all customer touchpoints.

• Transaction Monitoring & Reconciliation: Proactively identify and resolve transaction failures, reversals, and pending items. Ensure seamless reconciliation between the core platform and partner channels.

• Product Support: Configure and manage savings, current accounts, fixed deposits, and loan products, including interest calculations and repayment schedules.

• System Testing & Change Management: Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new features and platform upgrades to ensure high system availability.

• Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure strict adherence to CBN guidelines, NDIC requirements, and internal data protection policies. Manage maker-checker controls and user access governance.

• Reporting & Data Integrity: Generate accurate financial and operational reports (MIS/Regulatory) to support data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Banking, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant Core Banking certifications are an added advantage.

• Experience: 4–7 years in Core Banking Operations, Banking Technology, or Digital Banking Support within the Nigerian banking or fintech landscape.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Expertise in managing Core Banking Applications.

  • Strong knowledge of SQL, database management, and API integrations.

  • Deep understanding of payment systems, transaction workflows, and digital financial infrastructure.

• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, high integrity, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of CBN operational requirements and banking system controls.
