Lagos, Nigeria | Posted on 13/03/2026

About Company:

Asamaka Industries Limited is a professional engineering and technology company delivering specialized design and automation solutions to manufacturers across automotive, waste management, agriculture, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, and industrial sectors.

Job Description:

We are seeking a high-precision and technically agile Controls Engineer to anchor our industrial automation ecosystem in Lagos. In the era of Industry 4.0, success is defined by "Operational Synchronization", the ability to harmonize complex PLC logic, HMI interfaces, and robotic systems into a seamless, high-uptime production engine. This role is designed for an "Automation Architect" who can blend "Advanced Programming Logic" with the "Hardware Mastery" required to design, deploy, and troubleshoot smart industrial solutions.

Your mission is to ensure "Zero-Downtime Logic and Intelligent System Integration." You will be the primary steward of our control infrastructure: responsible for coding robust PLC programs, configuring high-speed communication protocols, and integrating vision systems for quality assurance. If you possess "Exceptional Analytical Grit," a mastery of Siemens or Rockwell environments, and a passion for robotics, we want you to drive our technical sovereignty.

Requirements:

1. Logic Engineering & HMI Orchestration

  • PLC Programming: Develop, debug, and optimize complex Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) code using Rockwell (Allen-Bradley), Siemens (TIA Portal), or Omron environments.

  • Interface Design: Create intuitive Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) that empower operators with real-time data visualization and simplified system control.

  • Algorithm Optimization: Refine control loops and logic sequences to improve machine cycle times and energy efficiency.

2. Industrial Communication & Network Sovereignty

  • Protocol Integration: Configure and manage industrial communication networks using Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and PROFINET to ensure seamless data exchange between field devices and the control layer.

  • Sensory Intelligence: Deploy and calibrate Vision Systems and Smart Sensors to automate quality inspections and environmental monitoring.

  • Data Connectivity: Ensure the integrity of data flow from the shop floor to supervisory systems, supporting real-time operational transparency.

3. Electrical Design & Robotics Governance

  • Circuit Architecture: Design and interpret complex electrical schematics and control panel layouts, ensuring compliance with international safety standards.

  • Robotic Synchronization: Program and maintain industrial robotic arms and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) to enhance production throughput.

  • Hardware Stewardship: Oversee the selection and installation of VFDs, servos, and actuators, ensuring they are perfectly matched to the mechanical load.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Possession of relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Technical Mastery: Proven experience in PLC/HMI programming across multiple platforms (Rockwell and Siemens are high priorities).

  • Communication Skills: Ability to translate complex technical challenges into actionable reports for management and clear instructions for technicians.

Core Competencies

  • Diagnostic Grit: Advanced troubleshooting skills for complex electrical and software-based system failures.

  • Safety Sovereignty: Deep understanding of industrial safety standards (ISO/IEC) and the implementation of "Safe-State" logic.

  • Project Resilience: Ability to manage automation upgrades and installations under tight production windows.
