Job Description:
- This role strengthens the organization’s front-end development engine by driving rigorous early-stage project maturation.
- The associate will orchestrate structured opportunity framing, technical and commercial evaluation, and strategic alignment for offshore and onshore venture spaces.
- The mandate centers on shaping opportunity premises, validating feasibility, optimizing economics, and securing investment-ready outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Front-End Planning & Concept Framings:
- Lead front-end development (FEL 0–1) activities for emerging opportunities.
- Develop project premises, framing documents, strategic options, and boundary conditions.
- Coordinate cross-functional review cycles to validate technical contours, commercial logic, and execution pathways.
- Lead early-stage risk and opportunity assessments to shape development direction.
Technical & Commercial Evaluation (Offshore & Onshore Scope):
- Conduct conceptual technical evaluations, engineering scoping, and feasibility assessments.
- Partners with discipline leads to frame concept alternatives, cost drivers, execution and constructability considerations.
- Perform first-pass economic assessments including value modelling, capex/opex screening, breakeven analysis, and sensitivities.
- Support early regulatory screening and sustainability considerations.
Strategy, Funding & Business Case Development:
- Develop investment rationale, funding strategy options, and commercialization pathways.
- Support structuring of partnerships, JV opportunities, and market entry strategies.
- Build business case packages for gate reviews, leadership engagement, and external partner alignment.
- Benchmark global trends, technology readiness, and competitiveness.
Project Maturation & Stage-Gate Readiness:
- Drive project maturation from ideation to concept-select stage.
- Maintain project documentation, risk registers, development paths, and decision logs.
- Track milestones, risks, and interdependencies across technical and commercial workstreams.
- Ensure cross-functional integration in early-stage project delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Geosciences, Economics, Business, or related field; Master’s an advantage.
- 5 - 10 years’ experience in FEL, business development, or early-stage project maturation.
- Strong technical and commercial understanding of offshore/onshore energy assets.
- Experience within oil & gas value chains.
