Job Description:

We are seeking a highly disciplined Finance and Compliance Officer to serve as the critical bridge between our financial objectives and operational execution. In this role, you will be the primary guardian of our financial integrity, responsible for eliminating leakages, ensuring rigorous stock accountability, and enforcing strict compliance across our warehouse and sales operations. Requirements:

  • Financial Control & Reconciliation:

    • Conduct end-to-end stock reconciliation (daily, weekly, monthly) across warehouse records and ERP systems.

    • Investigate and resolve stock variances within 48 hours.

    • Validate all Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) and delivery notes to ensure financial accuracy before ledger entry.

  • Compliance & Process Enforcement:

    • Enforce warehouse SOPs; ensure zero unauthorized stock movement (no dispatch without approved documentation).

    • Audit daily closing balances and monitor credit sales against approved customer limits.

    • Perform unannounced spot checks at warehouse and sales locations to ensure adherence to financial policies.

  • Cost & Expense Control:

    • Review and validate operational expenses (fuel, maintenance, consumables, petty cash) to prevent cost leakage.

    • Implement checks-and-balances to ensure every expenditure is duly authorized.

  • Audit & Reporting:

    • Maintain robust documentation (SOPs, logs, audit trails).

    • Support internal/external audits and track progress in variance reduction.

    • Flag non-compliance or operational negligence to management immediately.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Professional Expertise: Proven experience in financial accounting, internal control, or audit, specifically within an inventory-heavy environment (retail, manufacturing, or FMCG).

  • Core Competencies:

    • Analytical Rigor: Ability to reconcile complex datasets and identify the root cause of discrepancies.

    • Compliance Mindset: Strong sense of professional skepticism and uncompromising adherence to SOPs.

    • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Excel and ERP/Inventory management software.

    • Leadership/Influence: Ability to foster a culture of accountability across operational teams.

  • Education/Integrity: Candidates must be ready to undergo a thorough background check, reference check, and credential verification.

Salary

₦300,000 - ₦400,000/month
