Job Description:
As a Collection Officer you will be responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments, and maintaining positive customer relationships. This role requires strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused approach to handle payment-related inquiries professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Debt Collection & Account Management:
- Contact customers via phone, email, and letters to follow up on overdue payments.
- Negotiate payment plans and settlement arrangements based on company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and payment commitments.
Customer Service & Relationship Management:
- Address customer queries regarding billing, payment options, and outstanding balances.
- Provide excellent customer service while ensuring effective collection strategies.
- Educate customers on payment terms and financial obligations.
Dispute Resolution & Problem-Solving:
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and disputes efficiently.
- Work closely with internal departments to resolve customer concerns.
- Recommend solutions for challenging collection cases.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to debt collection.
- Prepare reports on collection activities, outstanding accounts, and recovery rates.
- Adhere to company policies and ethical guidelines when handling customer

Requirements:
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in customer service, collections, or call center roles is an advantage.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle difficult conversations with empathy and professionalism.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
