At that time, the number of conflicts between countries was decreasing, but there was an alarming increase in the number of conflicts within countries. These conflicts were undermining development and leading to gross violations of human rights.
Job Description:
This internship focuses on the intersection of child rights, responsible business conduct, and private sector engagement. The intern will support programme implementation, conduct policy analysis, and assist in building relationships with corporate, government, and civil society stakeholders.
Requirements:
Programme Support: Assisting with project coordination, workshops, report preparation, and donor updates.
Research & Policy: Conducting desk research on ESG, human rights due diligence, and legal frameworks related to child rights and business.
Engagement: Supporting outreach to private sector partners, industry associations, and government bodies; preparing presentations and advisory materials.
Knowledge Management: Maintaining project records, documenting lessons learned/case studies, and drafting communication materials.
Administration: Managing event logistics and providing general administrative support to the programme team.
Qualifications and Skills:
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Human Rights, Business Management, International Development, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Competencies: Strong research, analytical, and written communication skills; client-focused mindset; ability to engage professionally with diverse stakeholders; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications, professional legal membership, or previous experience in human rights, consulting, compliance, or NGO/development sectors. Familiarity with international frameworks (UNCRC, UNGPs, CRBPs) is a distinct advantage.
