Job Description:
- The Chief Security Officer (CSO) is responsible for developing and implementing security policies, protocols, and procedures to safeguard the company's physical and human assets.
- With a strong military background and proven experience in the manufacturing sector, the CSO will lead all security operations, ensuring a secure working environment across all plant and facility locations.
Key Responsibilities
Security Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and oversee the implementation of comprehensive security policies and procedures for the manufacturing plant.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits of all facilities and assets.
- Design crisis and emergency response plans tailored to a manufacturing environment.
Personnel and Team Leadership:
- Lead, train, and supervise security personnel, ensuring discipline and readiness.
- Organize security drills and simulations.
- Assign security duties and conduct regular performance evaluations.
Physical Security Management:
- Ensure protection of manufacturing plants, warehouses, raw materials, and finished goods.
- Implement access control measures (e.g., ID cards, CCTV, patrol systems).
- Monitor perimeter fencing, gates, and loading zones to prevent unauthorized access.
Incident Management:
- Investigate and report all incidents, breaches, or suspicious activities.
- Liaise with law enforcement, military, and emergency response units as needed.
- Oversee proper documentation of security-related events and corrective measures.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal security regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs and security documentation in line with industry standards.
- Implement safety and loss prevention policies aligned with manufacturing operations.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with HR, production, logistics, and facility teams to align security with business operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external security agencies and regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
- Military background (e.g., retired officer from the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Police).
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in a security leadership role, including 5+ years in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of security and safety protocols, access control systems, and emergency response planning.
- Experience managing large security teams across multiple sites.
- Proven ability to manage crises and respond effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficient in using modern surveillance systems (CCTV, biometric access, etc.).
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminology, Security Studies, Industrial Safety, or related field (an advantage).
- Professional certifications in security management
- Military training in leadership, intelligence, and operations (mandatory).
