Job Description:

We are seeking a creative, highly skilled, and reliable Chef to lead our kitchen operations. You will be responsible for everything from menu planning and inventory management to the final presentation of gourmet dishes. This is a "live-in" role, making it an excellent opportunity for a professional dedicated to culinary excellence who values the convenience of on-site accommodation.

Requirements:

  • Kitchen Leadership: Oversee all daily kitchen operations, manage staff, and ensure a steady, efficient flow of dishes.

  • Menu Development: Plan menus, create new dishes to enhance the offerings, and determine the presentation style for all served meals.

  • Inventory & Stock Management: Monitor kitchen stock, place supply orders, and maintain accurate inventory records to ensure we are always fully stocked.

  • Quality Control: Inspect the quality of all incoming ingredients and ensure all dishes meet our high standards for taste and presentation.

  • Sanitation & Safety: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and orderly kitchen environment in strict accordance with health and safety standards.

  • Operational Prep: Ensure workstations are properly set up with all necessary cooking equipment before service begins.

  • Trend Awareness: Stay current with industry trends to keep our menu fresh and competitive.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Vocational training, OND, NCE, or equivalent qualification.

  • Experience: Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment (experience in both high-end private or commercial kitchens is an advantage).

  • Culinary Versatility: Expert ability to prepare both continental and local Nigerian dishes.

  • Specialized Skills: Strong knowledge of pastry making, barbecue/grill techniques, and other related culinary preparations.

  • Professional Attributes:

    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory and staff.

    • Creative mindset with an eye for food presentation.

    • Must be a Lagos resident (or willing to relocate; accommodation is provided).
