Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and highly organized Business Development Officer to drive our commercial operations within the Nigerian energy and maritime sectors. In this role, you will be the backbone of our bidding process, responsible for navigating complex procurement portals like NIPEX and NJQS, managing our vendor status with International Oil Companies (IOCs), and providing the market intelligence necessary to win high-value contracts. This is a critical support role that ensures our commercial pipeline is robust, compliant, and positioned for growth.
Requirements:
Tender & Bid Support
Monitoring: Daily surveillance of NIPEX, NJQS, and client procurement portals to identify new tenders and business opportunities.
Deadlines: Maintain a comprehensive tender calendar and proactively alert the BD Lead to upcoming bid deadlines.
Submissions: Assist in compiling, formatting, and submitting professional tender documents and proposals.
Documentation: Manage a library of bid templates and track outcomes in a win/loss register to refine future strategies.
Vendor Registration & Pre-qualification
Compliance: Coordinate and track all vendor registrations and pre-qualification submissions for IOCs and major contractors.
Credential Management: Maintain up-to-date company certifications and credentials.
Renewals: Monitor expiration dates for all registrations and initiate renewal processes well in advance to ensure uninterrupted eligibility.
Pipeline & CRM Management
Tracking: Update the commercial pipeline tracker weekly to reflect current opportunity statuses.
Reporting: Generate concise weekly and monthly summary reports for leadership.
Follow-up: Flag stalled opportunities or overdue actions to ensure no lead is lost.
Market Intelligence & Research
Industry Insights: Research competitor activity, IOC project pipelines, and offshore Nigeria project news.
Intelligence Reporting: Compile periodic summaries of market trends and developments for the BD Lead.
Administrative Support
Document Control: Manage departmental filing, correspondence, and expenditure records against the quarterly budget.
Logistics: Coordinate logistics for industry conferences, meetings, and major networking events.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline.
Experience: 3–5 years of experience in business development, commercial support, or administrative roles.
Industry Knowledge: Proven experience in Oil & Gas, offshore logistics, or maritime services is highly preferred.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with Nigerian procurement platforms (NIPEX/NJQS) and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
