Job Description:
- The Business Developer (BD) is responsible for engaging merchants in community, neighborhood, and street markets to use the OPay Customer App (CAPP) for their daily business transactions.
- The role focuses on onboarding quality merchants, increasing app usage, driving merchant activity, and growing transaction volume within assigned markets.
- The BD serves as the direct link between OPay and merchants, ensuring merchants understand the benefits of using the Customer App to receive and send money while contributing to the department's growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and onboard quality merchants within assigned markets.
- Educate merchants on the benefits of using the OPay Customer App (CAPP).
- Encourage merchants to use the app daily for receiving and sending business payments.
- Conduct regular merchant visits and follow-up activities to increase app usage and merchant activity.
- Drive improvements in merchant activation, order count, active rate, and Gross Transaction Value (GTV).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants.
- Resolve merchant concerns and escalate unresolved issues when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with departmental SOPs and onboarding standards.
- Submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports.
- Participate in training, coaching, and performance review session
Requirements:
- Minimum of an OND, HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Prior experience in POS operations, field support, customer service, sales, or merchant acquisition is an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be proactive, result-oriented, and committed to excellent service delivery.
- Ability to work effectively in a field-based environment and engage merchants professionally.
