Job Description:

Are you an expert in building robust, high-scale financial systems? We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer with deep fintech expertise to join our core team. In this role, you will take ownership of the backend architecture that powers our financial platform, ensuring seamless payment processing, secure wallet management, and resilient third-party integrations. You will work in a fast-paced environment alongside product and frontend teams to build reliable, scalable infrastructure that defines our user experience.

Requirements:

• API Development: Architect, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable RESTful APIs using Node.js.

• Transaction Logic: Develop and manage complex financial transaction systems, including payment processing, fee calculation, and precise ledger management.

• Financial Integrations: Lead the integration of critical financial services, including banking APIs, payment gateways, and SMS infrastructure.

• Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain robust authentication and authorization protocols (JWT, OAuth 2.0, encryption) to ensure ironclad platform security.

• Workflow Resilience: Engineer background job processing, scheduling, and sophisticated retry logic to ensure financial workflows remain fault-tolerant.

• Data Integrity: Guarantee absolute data consistency across all financial operations through rigorous use of database transactions and advanced error handling.

• Code Excellence: Write clean, modular, and testable code. Actively participate in code reviews to maintain and elevate engineering best practices.

• Collaborative Engineering: Partner with the product team to translate complex business requirements into reliable, production-ready technical solutions.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience: Minimum of 4 years in backend engineering.

• Fintech Specialization: At least 2 years of dedicated experience in a fintech, payments, or banking environment (non-negotiable).

• Node.js Proficiency: Strong, production-level expertise in building backend services with Node.js.

• Database Expertise: Solid experience working with PostgreSQL or comparable relational database systems.

• Integration Experience: Proven track record in building and integrating financial APIs and payment systems.

• Security Mindset: Strong understanding of security best practices, including JWT, OAuth 2.0, encryption, and data protection strategies.

• Resiliency: Proven experience in webhook handling and building systems that gracefully manage external API failures.

• Domain Knowledge: Solid grasp of background job management and financial data integrity principles, specifically idempotency, atomicity, and audit logging.

• Workflow: Proficient with Git and collaborative development methodologies.
