Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber Backend Engineer with a deep specialization in asset management processes to join our engineering team. This role is not just about writing code; it is about architecting the financial backbone of systems that manage investment portfolios, client funds, and real-time reporting for asset managers.

The ideal candidate bridges the gap between sophisticated financial workflows and robust technical execution, possessing the "Full-Stack" versatility to build high-performance Java Spring Boot microservices while developing intuitive admin interfaces using React and Thymeleaf.

Requirements:

Core Engineering & Architecture

• Service Development: Architect and maintain scalable REST APIs and microservices using Java Spring Boot.

• Interface Development: Build and optimize web dashboards and admin interfaces utilizing React and server-side templating engines like Thymeleaf.

• Integrations: Lead technical integrations with market data providers, custody platforms, and core banking systems to ensure seamless data flow.

• Security & Auditing: Implement rigorous security protocols, audit logging, and NDPR-compliant data protection measures for sensitive financial data.

Asset Management Workflows

• Portfolio Logic: Build and maintain engines for portfolio tracking, real-time P&L valuation, and Net Asset Value (NAV) processing.

• Transaction Lifecycle: Support mission-critical workflows including client onboarding (KYC), subscription/redemption cycles, and corporate actions (dividends, splits).

• Financial Calculations: Develop automated systems for complex management and performance fee structures.

Qualifications and Skills:

Technical Expertise

• Backend: Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot (Spring Data, Security, MVC).

• Frontend: Working knowledge of React (Hooks, State Management) and experience with server-side libraries (Thymeleaf, JSP, or FreeMarker).

• Data & Infrastructure: * Mastery of JPA/Hibernate and SQL databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).

  • Familiarity with Kafka, Redis, Docker, and Kubernetes.

  • Experience deploying on cloud platforms like Heroku, AWS, or Azure.

Fintech & Regulatory Domain Knowledge Candidates must demonstrate a working knowledge of the Nigerian regulatory landscape and financial instruments:

• Regulatory: Understanding of CBN digital wallet regulations, SEC Nigeria investment product requirements, NDPR, and AML/CFT compliance.

• Instruments: Professional familiarity with Equities, Fixed Income, Mutual Funds, and ETFs.

• Processes: Experience with Fund Accounting, Order Management Systems (OMS), or Portfolio Management Systems (PMS).
