Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend AI Engineer to join our technology team in Victoria Island. In this role, you will be pivotal in building the next generation of our financial services platform. You will be responsible for designing and implementing sophisticated service layers, integrating core banking systems, and orchestrating complex data flows—all while leveraging cutting-edge AI-assisted coding tools like Claude Code to maximize development velocity and code quality. Requirements:

• AI-Enhanced Development: Utilize AI tools, including Claude Code, to accelerate the development of robust backend services and microservices.

• System Architecture: Design and implement resilient service layers that sit atop our core banking infrastructure.

• Integration & Orchestration: Build and manage seamless integrations between internal platforms and external third-party services (e.g., AML, KYC, and Payment Service Providers).

• Data & Messaging: Architect event-driven systems and messaging-based integrations (queues, pub/sub) to ensure real-time data flow and system reliability.

• Scalability & Performance: Ensure all backend solutions are secure, performant, and capable of handling high-volume transaction processing.

• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to translate complex fintech requirements into high-quality, maintainable platform capabilities.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience: 5–9 years of professional backend development experience.

• Education:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.

  • Preferred: Master’s degree.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Languages: Strong expertise in .NET, Node.js, and/or Python.

  • Cloud: Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure.

  • Architecture: Deep understanding of APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.

• Mandatory Architectural Skills:

  • Operational Data Stores (ODS).

  • Event-driven architecture and message queuing systems.

  • Document handling, storage, and Identity and Access Management (IAM).

• Domain Expertise: Proven experience in fintech, lending, payments, or transaction processing systems is essential.

• Communication: Professional proficiency in both English and the local language.
