Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Automobile Technician to join our technical team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end maintenance and repair of vehicles, utilizing modern diagnostic tools to ensure optimal performance. You will play a key role in developing preventive maintenance schedules and collaborating across departments to ensure the efficiency of our fleet operations.

The ideal candidate is a technically sound professional who can balance hands-on repair work with the discipline of maintaining accurate service records and safety protocols.

Requirements:

Diagnostics & Repairs

• Advanced Troubleshooting: Use specialized diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, or mechatronic issues.

• Verification: Conduct test drives to verify that repairs have been successfully executed and that all systems are functioning at peak performance.

• Component Management: Efficiently repair or replace damaged vehicle components, from engine parts to electrical systems.

Maintenance Planning & Strategy

• Preventive Schedules: Assist in developing and implementing maintenance procedures, including structured preventive maintenance schedules for various mechanical systems.

• Site Inspections: Conduct routine site inspections to identify potential mechanical failures before they occur and troubleshoot existing problems.

Leadership & Team Collaboration

• Technical Training: Assist in the onboarding and training of new mechanics, ensuring they are proficient in the latest repair procedures.

• Inter-departmental Liaison: Collaborate closely with Quality Control, Spare Parts, Service Advisory, and Fleet Management departments to ensure seamless maintenance operations.

Compliance & Documentation

• Safety & Standards: Maintain a clean work area and strictly follow all established safety protocols to ensure a hazard-free environment.

• Service Records: Maintain detailed and accurate service records for every vehicle handled, providing a clear history of repairs and maintenance.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Technical Training

• Vocational Track: SSCE, Vocational Apprentice Certification, Technical College degree, or Trade Test Certification.

• Professional Track: OND, HND, or B.Eng in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Electrical Engineering.

Experience & Skills

• Proven Expertise: Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in automobile repair and maintenance.

• Diagnostic Proficiency: Hands-on experience using modern automotive diagnostic tools and software.

• Systems Knowledge: Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance protocols.

• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting abilities with a focus on identifying root causes.

• Accountability: High level of ownership over repair quality and workshop cleanliness.

• Communication: Ability to explain technical issues clearly to service advisors and collaborate effectively with the spare parts team.
