Job Description:
We are seeking a disciplined and service-oriented Assistant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our facility in Choba. In this role, you will be a key pillar of our leadership team, responsible for maintaining high service standards, managing personnel, and ensuring a seamless experience for every customer. You will balance administrative precision such as payroll and scheduling with hands-on floor management and staff mentorship.
The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who can maintain professional composure in a high-pressure environment while driving the team toward operational excellence.
Requirements:
Personnel Management & Leadership
Talent Integration: Oversee the appointment of new staff; lead the induction process and provide ongoing mentorship to ensure team members align with company culture and service standards.
Operational Scheduling: Design and manage staff shift rosters to ensure optimal coverage during peak and off-peak hours.
Floor Coordination: Strategically assign tables and sections to waitstaff to ensure balanced workloads and efficient service flow.
Customer Relations
Grievance Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for complex customer inquiries, resolving questions and grievances with professional diplomacy.
Experience Oversight: Monitor the floor to ensure all guests receive timely, high-quality service and that the facility's reputation is upheld.
Administrative & Financial Oversight
Payroll Administration: Conduct all payroll activities with extreme accuracy, ensuring staff are compensated correctly and on time.
Accountability: Maintain meticulous records of staff performance, attendance, and operational incidents for management review.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: * Proven experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within the hospitality or service industry.
Demonstrable experience in staff training and conflict resolution.
Technical Skills:
Administrative Accuracy: Strong numerical skills for payroll processing and scheduling.
Software Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and basic knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) or management software.
Core Competencies:
Leadership: Ability to mentor a diverse team and maintain a positive work environment.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Organization: Superior time management and multitasking abilities.
Salary
