Job Description:
We are seeking a high-energy and strategic Assistant Manager to support the leadership of our retail operations in Lagos. In this role, you will partner with the Store Manager to drive sales growth, optimize operational efficiency, and cultivate a high-performing team. You will be instrumental in translating business objectives into daily actionable tasks, ensuring that our customer service standards remain elite and our store performance stays ahead of the competition.
The ideal candidate is a disciplined leader with a "lead-by-example" philosophy, possessing the analytical skills to interpret retail data and the interpersonal skills to motivate a diverse sales team.
Requirements:
Operational Leadership & Strategy
Strategic Planning: Assist the Store Manager in developing and implementing floor strategies designed to increase foot traffic and customer conversion.
Daily Coordination: Oversee daily customer service operations, including sales processes, order fulfillment, and payment reconciliations.
Performance Tracking: Monitor the progress of weekly, monthly, and annual business objectives, providing regular updates to management.
Compliance & Audits: Conduct regular audits to ensure the store is fully functional and presentable; ensure all staff adhere to company policies and safety guidelines.
Team Management & Development
Supervision: Lead and motivate the retail staff to achieve peak performance levels.
Talent Development: Coach and support both new and existing Sales Associates; suggest and implement sales training programs to sharpen the team's skills.
HR Support: Evaluate employee performance and identify specific hiring or training needs to maintain a robust workforce.
Commercial & Financial Oversight
Inventory Control: Monitor and maintain store inventory levels to prevent stockouts and manage shrinkage.
Data Analysis: Create and interpret retail reports, focusing on revenues, expenses, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to adjust product positioning.
Resource Management: Monitor retail operating costs and budgets to ensure the efficient use of company resources.
Customer Relations: Handle complex customer complaints and evaluate client needs to improve the overall shopping experience.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience: * Proven experience as a Retail Assistant Manager or in a similar supervisory position.
Hands-on experience with recruitment and performance evaluation processes.
Technical Skills:
Analytical Proficiency: Good math skills with the ability to create and analyze complex spreadsheets and sales statistics.
Software: Proficient user of MS Office, with advanced skills in MS Excel.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with modern retail financial principles and customer service best practices.
Core Competencies:
