About Company:
VFB Hotels is a premier hospitality destination located in the heart of Sapele, Delta State. Established with a commitment to excellence, we provide a sophisticated sanctuary for business executives, travelers, and local guests who value comfort, security, and world-class service. Our facility is designed to blend modern luxury with the warm, authentic hospitality that Nigeria is known for.
Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and integrity-driven Accounting Officer to anchor the financial operations of our hotel in Sapele. In the hospitality sector, financial success is built on the rigorous reconciliation of high-volume, daily transactions. This role is designed for a "Revenue Guardian", a professional who can blend the technical precision of profit and loss (P&L) reporting with the analytical grit required to audit diverse revenue streams from rooms, dining, and events.
Your mission is to ensure "Zero-Leakage Financial Operations." You will be the steward of our fiscal health: responsible for reconciling front-desk sales, managing accounts payable, and ensuring that payroll and statutory remittances are processed with surgical accuracy. If you possess "Analytical Grit" and thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, we want you to lead our finance desk.
Requirements:
1. Revenue Reconciliation & Audit
Multichannel Reconciliation: Execute daily reconciliations of front-desk sales, bar/restaurant receipts, and occupancy reports to ensure every kobo of revenue is accounted for.
Internal Governance: Conduct periodic internal audits of physical inventory (food, beverage, and supplies) and petty cash to prevent wastage or misappropriation.
Compliance Stewardship: Assist in the accurate processing of staff salaries and the timely filing of statutory remittances, including PAYE (Tax) and Pension contributions.
2. Financial Reporting & Ledger Management
Performance Analysis: Prepare high-integrity daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, providing leadership with clear visibility into Profit and Loss (P&L) trends.
Bookkeeping Discipline: Maintain a flawless general ledger by managing all accounts payable (vendor payments) and accounts receivable, ensuring the hotel's cash flow remains healthy.
System Optimization: Utilize accounting software and Hotel Management Systems (HMS) to automate financial tracking and reduce manual entry errors.
3. Operational Integrity & Logistics
Inventory Control: Partner with department heads to audit stock levels and ensure procurement aligns with the approved budget.
Statutory Accuracy: Ensure all financial documentation is maintained to an "Audit-Ready" standard, complying with both internal policies and Nigerian financial regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Minimum of OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Accounting, Banking & Finance, or a related discipline.
Experience: Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality setting is a significant advantage.
Technical Mastery: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) or Hotel Management Systems (HMS).
Core Competencies
Integrity: An unshakeable commitment to ethical financial practices and confidentiality.
Analytical Grit: The ability to spot discrepancies in high-volume transaction data quickly.
Location: Must reside in Sapele or be fully prepared to relocate.
