Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting & Inventory Assistant to play a pivotal role in our finance and supply chain operations. You will support the smooth functioning of the organization by ensuring accurate financial records, rigorous inventory control, and operational efficiency. This is an ideal role for a data-driven professional who thrives on accuracy and process improvement.
Requirements:
Accounting Support
Transaction Processing: Manage accounts payable and receivable, including the processing of invoices, receipts, and payments.
Record Keeping: Maintain precise documentation of purchases, supplier interactions, sales, and customer accounts.
Financial Oversight: Reconcile financial discrepancies, ensure accurate depreciation entries, and assist in generating reports and budget forecasts for management.
Compliance & Audit: Conduct periodic internal audits and assist the Accounts Head in ensuring full regulatory compliance and procedural integrity.
Inventory Management
Stock Control: Monitor stock levels and movements, implementing procedures to minimize losses and optimize storage efficiency.
Reconciliation: Conduct regular physical inventory counts and perform system reconciliations to ensure 100% data accuracy.
Logistics: Process purchase orders and coordinate with vendors to guarantee timely delivery of goods.
Reporting: Generate periodic stock reports (monthly/quarterly/annually) to track performance and highlight trends.
Collaboration & Compliance
External Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers.
Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements and ensure adherence to internal controls.
Regulatory Updates: Stay informed on evolving accounting practices and inventory management techniques to safeguard company assets.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: OND / HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience: 2–3 years of relevant experience is a strong advantage.
Technical Proficiency: Essential familiarity with ERP software (e.g., SAP, Sage, Tally, or Peachtree).
Inventory Expertise: Proficiency in stock valuation and movement tracking techniques (specifically FIFO).
Analytical Ability: Strong aptitude for data analysis, variance identification, and report generation.
Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, a high level of professional integrity, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
