Zizi Dredging and Marine Services is a growing dredging and marine services company based in Calabar, specializing in dredging operations, sand filling, land reclamation, shoreline protection, and marine logistics services.

Job Description:

• As part of our growth, we are seeking a smart, detail-oriented, and proactive Accountant to join our dredging operations team in Calabar.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, monitoring operational expenses, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate accounting processes within the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
• Monitor cash flow, expenses, and operational costs.
• Process invoices, payments, receipts, and bank reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable effectively.
• Assist in payroll preparation and statutory deductions.
• Prepare and post journal entries into accounting systems.
• Support budget preparation and expense tracking for dredging operations.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with auditors, banks, and relevant government agencies when required.
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial transactions.
• Provide management with accurate financial analysis and recommendations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 2–3 years proven experience in an accounting role.
• Experience in construction, marine, logistics, oil & gas, or dredging industry is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, Zoho Books, or similar ERP/accounting systems.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• ICAN/ACCA certification is an advantage but not compulsory.

Preferred Skills:

• Cost control and operational expense monitoring.
• Inventory and asset tracking experience.
• Ability to prepare management reports and financial summaries.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
