Job Description:

  • Financial reporting and analysis: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, profit and loss accounts, and balance sheets.
  • Conduct financial analysis to assess profitability and provide recommendations.
  • Payroll and taxes: Administer payroll, ensure compliance with tax legislation, and prepare tax returns.
  • Auditing and compliance: Conduct internal audits on financial transactions and operations.
  • Ensure the company complies with all financial laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Cash flow management: Monitor cash flow, chase late payments, and report bad debts.
  • Maintaining a proper record of the financial transactions of the company.
  • Creating a database that can help in future business planning.
  • Risk evaluation and opportunity analysis.
  • Preparing monthly reports of the company’s financial statements as well as the profit information for the month.
  • Provide tax planning strategies in accordance with existing legislation
  • Create financial forecasts and analyse risk

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Opera PMS) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of Nigerian tax, financial regulations and compliance requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of HND/BSc. degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ accounting experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
