Job Description:

The Accountant at Hop will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial records, tracking revenue from ride-hailing and logistics operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.

• Record all financial transactions related to rides, logistics, and fleet operations.

• Reconcile daily transactions with ride-hailing platforms and driver payment systems.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Monitor and analyze revenue trends, driver payouts, commissions, and operational expenses.

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis activities.

• Handle tax computations and ensure statutory compliance (VAT, PAYE, company income tax, etc.).

• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory agencies.

• Generate financial reports to guide operational and strategic decisions.

• Utilize accounting software and internal dashboards to promote transparency and accountability.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Skills:

• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• ACA, ACCA/ICAN qualification (or in progress).
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a tech or logistics company.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or ERP systems).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
• Familiarity with ride-hailing or transport operations is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
