Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and disciplined Accountant to manage our financial health and ensure regulatory compliance at our Ibadan operations. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing tax obligations, and providing the management team with the data needed for informed decision-making. You will play a critical role in safeguarding the company’s assets and optimizing financial workflows.

To ensure seamless integration with our local operations, we are strictly seeking candidates who currently reside within the Apete or Oluyole Estate areas of Ibadan.

Requirements:

Financial Management & Reporting

• Bookkeeping: Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.

• Financial Statements: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow forecasts.

• Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monitor variances to ensure departmental spending remains within limits.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

• Tax Administration: Ensure the timely and accurate filing of all relevant taxes, including VAT, PAYE, and Company Income Tax, in compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Audit Support: Coordinate and provide the necessary documentation for internal and external audits.

• Regulatory Filings: Maintain compliance with standard accounting principles and local financial reporting requirements.

Treasury & Operations

• Payroll: Manage the monthly payroll process, ensuring all staff are paid accurately and on time with appropriate statutory deductions.

• Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and ledger reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.

• Expense Control: Monitor company expenditures and provide insights on potential cost-saving measures.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Possession of a relevant qualification (B.Sc. or HND) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Professional Status: Membership in a professional body (e.g., ICAN or ACCA) is a significant advantage.

• Residency: Must reside within Apete or Oluyole Estate, Ibadan. Applications from candidates living outside these specific locations will not be processed.

• Core Competencies:

  • Strong proficiency in Accounting Software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Deep understanding of Nigerian tax laws and financial reporting standards.

  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to numerical detail.

  • High level of integrity and professional ethics.
