Job Description:

We are seeking a competent and detail-oriented Restaurant Accountant to manage the financial health and operational transparency of our establishment. This role requires a professional who understands that restaurant accounting goes beyond basic bookkeeping it involves rigorous daily sales monitoring, inventory costing, and tight expense control to ensure profitability.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the hospitality industry, with the ability to reconcile high-volume POS transactions and manage complex inventory cycles in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

Financial Reporting & Sales Reconciliation

• Daily Transactions: Manage and record all daily financial transactions, ensuring accurate entries into accounting systems.

• Sales Audit: Reconcile daily sales reports with POS transactions and bank statements to identify and resolve any discrepancies.

• Periodic Reporting: Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports to keep management informed of performance.

Cost Control & Inventory Management

• Inventory Costing: Monitor the cost of goods sold (COGS) and perform regular stock reconciliations to prevent waste, theft, or overstocking.

• Expense Monitoring: Track all operational expenses and cash flow, ensuring that revenue generation is optimized and overhead is controlled.

• Documentation: Maintain a meticulous filing system for all invoices, payments, and operational expenses.

Payroll & Compliance

• Payroll & Staff Records: Handle the preparation of payroll and maintain accurate financial records for all staff members.

• Tax & Statutory Duties: Assist with tax preparation and ensure the restaurant meets all statutory financial obligations and local policies.

• Budgeting: Support management with financial planning, budget preparation, and long-term forecasting.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: * Minimum of an HND or B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Experience: * 2–4 years of experience as an Accountant specifically within the hospitality or restaurant industry.

• Technical Proficiency: * Strong proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel.

  • Deep understanding of restaurant-specific financial operations and accounting principles.

• Core Competencies:
