Job Description:

We are seeking a meticulous and highly organized Account Officer / Bookkeeper to serve as the financial backbone of Mikfort. You will own the entire lifecycle of our financial and inventory data, ensuring that every naira is tracked, every stock item is accounted for, and every financial insight is clear. This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role for someone who understands that in an inventory-heavy business like ours, precision is the key to profitability. Requirements:

• Financial Integrity: Record all daily sales, purchases, and expenses. Maintain accurate cashbooks, petty cash logs, and bank reconciliation statements.

• Inventory & Stock Management: Manage a live inventory register (medicines, vaccines, feeds, etc.). Monitor expiry dates, flag low-stock items for reorder, and reconcile physical counts with system records.

• Accounts Management: Track all accounts payable (supplier obligations) and accounts receivable (customer debts) to ensure healthy cash flow.

• Reporting & Insight: Prepare daily/weekly sales reports, analyze gross profit margins, and provide the owner with actionable insights on high-performing products and customer segments.

• Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all transactions are backed by proper invoices and receipts. Organize records to support VAT filing, FIRS compliance, and potential financial audits.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., AAT, ICAN Foundation) are an added advantage.

• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, ideally within the retail, FMCG, pharmaceutical, or agro-input sectors.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Excel: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial reporting.

  • Accounting Software: Experience with POS or accounting tools like QuickBooks or Sage.
