Job Description:

Since 2019, The Brooks Africa has been a trusted leader in Abuja’s real estate landscape. We specialize in residential, commercial, and land development projects that merge modern design with long-term value. We are currently looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Account Officer to join our team, serve as our primary client liaison, and act as the guardian of our financial integrity.

Requirements:

A. Financial Operations & Bookkeeping

  • Maintain precise, up-to-date records of all financial transactions.

  • Manage end-to-end accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliations.

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to reflect the company’s fiscal health.

B. Budgeting, Analysis & Forecasting

  • Assist in the creation of annual budgets and detailed financial forecasts.

  • Conduct variance analysis to monitor budget performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Collaborate with procurement teams to verify cost-effectiveness on real estate project materials.

  • Provide actionable financial insights to support operational teams during project planning and execution.

C. Compliance, Audit & Governance

  • Ensure strict adherence to local tax regulations, including timely filing of VAT, PAYE, and Pension remittances.

  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard corporate assets.

  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation and resolving findings.

 

  • Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Professional Edge: Possession of a qualification from a recognized accounting body (ICAN, ACCA) is a strong advantage.

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, ideally gained within the real estate, property management, or construction industry.

  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Expertise in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage X3 Construction, SAP).

    • Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel.
