Job Description:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accountant / Account Officer to manage the financial health and reporting of our office in the Egbeda/Alimosho axis. In this role, you will be responsible for the full cycle of accounting operations—from daily bank reconciliations to the preparation of complex financial statements for senior management. You will play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining the steady cash flow necessary for our business growth.
The ideal candidate is a proactive finance professional with a strong grasp of tax legislation and the analytical ability to compare operational performance against business forecasts.
Requirements:
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Month-End Accounts: Produce an accurate set of month-end accounts, providing detailed comparisons to both previous periods and established forecasts.
Management Reporting: Prepare comprehensive Profit and Loss (P&L) accounts and Balance Sheets for review by senior management.
Budgeting & Planning: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and strategic business planning, including the projection of revenue streams.
Treasury & Cash Flow Management
Reconciliation: Conduct regular and thorough reconciliation of bank statements to ensure the integrity of all financial data.
Credit Control: Actively chase late payments, identify and report potential bad debts, and maintain a vigilant watch over the company’s daily cash flow.
Revenue Projections: Monitor and project departmental revenues (e.g., room revenue) to support operational decision-making.
Compliance & Taxation
Statutory Compliance: Ensure the organization strictly follows all national and state legislation regarding VAT and PAYE remittances.
Audit Support: Maintain organized financial records to facilitate seamless internal and external audit processes.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Qualification: Degree (B.Sc./HND) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in an accounting or account officer role.
Location: Applicants must reside within Egbeda, Alimosho, or immediate environs for ease of commute.
Technical & Professional Skills
Numerical Mastery: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Taxation Knowledge: Proven understanding of Nigerian tax laws, specifically regarding VAT and payroll taxes.
Digital Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally).
