Job Description:
- We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice Principal of Academics to join our educational leadership team in Benin City, Nigeria.
- The ideal candidate will work closely with the Principal to oversee the day-to-day operations of the school, foster academic excellence, and create a positive learning environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Principal in developing and implementing school policies, procedures, and curriculum
- Supervise and evaluate teaching staff, providing constructive feedback and professional development opportunities
- Manage student discipline and promote a positive school culture
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community members to enhance student achievement
- Oversee the school's academic programs and extracurricular activities
- Assist in budget planning and resource allocation
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian educational policies and regulations
- Participate in the development and implementation of the school improvement plan
- Act as the Principal in their absence, making critical decisions when necessary
- Utilize educational technology to enhance teaching and learning processes
- Coordinate and supervise standardized testing and student performance evaluations
Requirements:
- First Degree in Education, Mathematics or English Language.
- Masters degree preferred
- Computer literate and is familiar with school administration
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff and students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation
- Demonstrated experience in student behavior management and fostering a positive school culture
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in educational technology and its application in the classroom
- Fluency in English
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with educational trends
