We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Description:
- The Technology Specialist position is a senior plastics process technical professional who provides overall technology direction and guidance to the Company’s Plastics Process Technology organisation.
- They are experienced engineers and scientists who provide strategic, cross-functional and industry leadership that impacts identification of Plastics business opportunities, development of technology to address business needs, and application of new or existing technology to advance the general interest.
- The Technology Specialist is responsible for development and retention of knowledge leading to a competitive advantage for plastics production in their assigned area.
Responsibilities
In addition to all Level 1 and 2 Tasks and Responsibilities, a Level 3 Technology Specialist will:
- Identifies areas for generating competitive advantage through technology development and
- implementation and obtains business management support
- Identifies opportunities for generating competitive advantage through improved plant operation and obtains management support for implementation
- Provides guidance in Polymers Process Technology to major venture project development teams
- Ensures the Plastics Process Technology knowledge is being maintained, advanced and utilised
- Provides guidance/coaching for Plastics Process Engineers
- Develops overall technical resource plans for the Plastics Process technical community, including succession plans for Plastics Process Experts
Requirements:
- PhD in Engineering required
- Previous experience in a closely related position
- Extensive knowledge of the discipline
- Read, write and speak fluent English
- Influence corporate strategic direction in areas of expertise
- Facilitate global collaboration across the organisation
- Develop integrated solutions and champion the integration of results into broader business solutions
- Manage external relationships
- Understand and articulate technical challenges, identify opportunities and provide leadership to drive resolution
- Guide the development of complex, multi-disciplinary concepts that solve business problems across the full life cycle
- Grow the next generation of technical leaders, mentor staff, and provide guidance and constructive feedback
- Should be skilled in at least 2 plastics process technologies.
