Job Description:

• The Tax Specialist is responsible for ensuring full compliance with all statutory tax obligations of the company.
• This role involves preparing, filing, and managing all tax-related matters, advising management on tax planning, and liaising with relevant tax authorities to ensure timely and accurate tax compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, compute, and file all statutory taxes, including PAYE, WHT, VAT, CIT, and other applicable taxes
• Ensure timely remittance of taxes to relevant tax authorities (FIRS, State IRS, etc.)
• Maintain proper tax records, schedules, and supporting documentation
• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and advise management accordingly
• Conduct internal tax reviews and identify tax risks or exposures
• Liaise with tax consultants, auditors, and government tax officials
• Handle tax audits, assessments, and reconciliations
• Provide tax advisory support for business decisions and transactions
• Ensure compliance with company tax policies and statutory requirements
• Prepare tax reports for management review

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
• Professional certification, such as ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, or CITN, is an added advantage
• Minimum of 3–5 years relevant tax experience
