Job Description:
We are seeking a highly responsible and leadership-driven Superintendent Pharmacist to lead our pharmacy operations. This role is designed for a licensed professional who balances clinical expertise with strong administrative capabilities. You will be the primary custodian of regulatory compliance, serving as the liaison with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) while managing day-to-day retail/clinical operations. Your goal is to ensure the highest standards of pharmaceutical care, maintain a motivated team, and oversee the ethical and profitable growth of the pharmacy.
Requirements:
1. Regulatory Compliance & PCN Liaison
Registration & Licensing: Act as the Superintendent Pharmacist responsible for the annual registration of the premises with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
Ethical Standards: Ensure all operations strictly adhere to the PCN Code of Ethics and relevant health regulations.
Audit Readiness: Maintain all required statutory records, including poison books and prescription registers, ensuring the facility is always ready for regulatory inspections.
2. Operational Leadership & Staff Oversight
Day-to-Day Operations: Manage the entire pharmacy workflow, from inventory procurement and storage to final dispensing and patient counseling.
Team Management: Supervise, train, and mentor pharmacy technicians, interns, and support staff to ensure a high-performance culture.
Quality Assurance: Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to guarantee the authenticity and quality of all pharmaceutical products.
3. Clinical Excellence & Patient Care
Patient Counseling: Provide expert pharmaceutical care and advice to patients on medication adherence, side effects, and health management.
Medication Therapy Management: Review prescriptions for accuracy and potential drug interactions to ensure patient safety.
Service Innovation: Develop and oversee value-added services such as health screenings or vaccination programs to improve community health outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Credentials
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognized institution.
Registration: Must be a Registered Pharmacist with a current, valid practicing license from the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
Experience & Skills
Proven Tenure: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a Pharmacist, with at least 1 year in a management or supervisory role.
Leadership: Strong ability to lead a multidisciplinary team and manage administrative complexities.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and counseling skills, with the ability to build trust with patients and stakeholders.
