Job Description:

JSI is implementing a Routine Immunization Project across nine states in Nigeria. The State Immunization Technical Advisor will provide high-level strategic leadership and technical assistance to the State Primary Health Care Agency or Board (SPHCDA/B). The role focuses on strengthening routine immunization programs, overcoming barriers to declining vaccination rates, and reaching zero-dose and under-immunized children in hard-to-reach communities.

Requirements:

• Strategic Leadership: Serve as a high-level advisor to the SPHCDA/B and participate in technical sub-committees and working groups.

• Technical Assistance: Assist in evaluating immunization activities, aligning state support with national strategies (including Zero Dose Reduction and Measles Rubella Switch), and analyzing program performance to implement corrective actions.

• Project Oversight: Supervise JSI state team members, coordinate with local partners/NGOs, and ensure consistent communication with JSI Nigeria and global leadership.

• Reporting: Lead the development and submission of regular project reports to JSI and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Advanced degree (MBA, MSc, or MA) in public health, nursing, or a related field.

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public health program management.

  • At least 5 years of practical experience in team management and providing strategic leadership to government/partner counterparts.

  • At least 5 years of experience working in public health and primary health care.

  • Experience in immunization programs in both urban and rural settings.
