Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Service Manager to spearhead our aftersales service operations for Earthmoving and Mining equipment across Nigeria. In this mission-critical role, you will lead our technical service delivery, maximize fleet uptime, and drive the strategic growth of our service business. You will be the primary advocate for our customers, ensuring that our equipment and our support consistently exceeds expectations in some of the most demanding operational environments.

Requirements:

• Service Operations: Lead all field and workshop activities, ensuring that every repair and maintenance job is executed safely, timely, and to the highest technical standard.

• Customer Support: Act as the primary technical point of contact, resolving critical issues to minimize downtime and ensure high customer satisfaction.

• Team Leadership: Mentor, coach, and supervise a technical service team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional development.

• Technical Guidance: Provide expert support for complex troubleshooting and major component repairs (engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems).

• Parts & Resource Planning: Oversee parts availability and optimize service scheduling to maintain operational efficiency.

• Business Growth: Drive service revenue through proactive maintenance contracts and identify opportunities for improved warranty recovery.

• Quality & Compliance: Oversee warranty claim handling and ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices on-site.

• Performance Tracking: Manage budget costs and track departmental performance against key service KPIs.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering field.

• Experience: 7–10 years of professional experience in heavy equipment service, with a strong preference for candidates from the mining or earthmoving sectors.

• Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of heavy machinery systems, including hydraulics, diesel engines, and advanced electrical/electronic systems.

• Leadership: Proven ability to manage high-performing, well-disciplined service teams in field-intensive environments.

• Industry Edge: Experience with Liebherr equipment is highly advantageous.

• Communication: Fluent in English with the ability to interface effectively with site managers and executive stakeholders.

• Mobility: Must be willing and able to travel frequently to project sites across Nigeria.
