Job Description:
J3 Foods and Stores International is seeking a commercially astute Senior Finance Manager to serve as the chief financial architect for our distribution and retail operations. In the high-volume FMCG sector, success is built on the rigorous reconciliation of inventory and the absolute integrity of multi-outlet financial data. This role is designed for a "Strategic Controller", someone who can manage a network of Account Officers while ensuring that every kobo and every unit of stock is accounted for across all locations.
Your mission is to safeguard the organization's assets and drive profitability. You will be responsible for the entire financial lifecycle: from preparing board-ready monthly statements and validating complex sales reports to implementing cost-saving measures and providing investment advice to the MD/CEO. If you possess a high degree of "Financial Grit" and the leadership ability to standardize processes across Iyana Ipaja and beyond, we want you to lead our finance team.
Requirements:
1. Multi-Outlet Governance & Team Leadership
Standardization: Implement and enforce standardized accounting processes across all distribution outlets to ensure uniformity in reporting.
Talent Management: Manage and mentor Account Officers across all locations, conducting monthly performance reviews and resolving complex escalations.
Internal Control: Deploy rigorous internal control frameworks to prevent fraud, eliminate errors, and ensure 100% adherence to J3 accounting procedures.
2. Inventory Integrity & Revenue Assurance
Reconciliation Excellence: Oversee the accurate reconciliation of inventory transactions (purchases, movements, and write-offs), collaborating with the Warehouse team to eliminate discrepancies.
Revenue Validation: Validate sales reports and ensure revenue recognition strictly aligns with IFRS/Accounting standards.
Trade Management: Monitor and account for trade promotions, discounts, and rebates to ensure they are accurately reflected in the P&L.
3. Financial Stewardship & Compliance
Treasury & Payroll: Approve payment vouchers, petty cash, and bank reconciliations while ensuring 100% accuracy in payroll deductions and remittances.
Tax Governance: Ensure the timely filing of VAT, corporate taxes, and all other statutory obligations, staying ahead of changes in Nigerian tax laws.
Executive Advisory: Prepare strategic financial reports for the MD/CEO and General Manager, offering data-backed advice on investment opportunities and profit improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Experience: Proven experience in a senior finance or accounting role, preferably within the FMCG or Retail sector.
Education: Bachelor’s degree/HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (ICAN/ACCA) is highly advantageous.
Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in cost accounting, balance sheet reconciliation, and modern accounting software.
Core Competencies
Analytical Precision: Ability to oversee complex inventory movements and identify cost-saving opportunities without affecting operational efficiency.
Executive Presence: Confident in advising management on high-level investment and profitability strategies.
