Job Description:

Flutterwave is seeking a stellar Senior Associate, Settlement to join our Global Operations team. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the seamless processing of merchant settlements and the effective management of chargeback disputes. You will be at the heart of our transaction ecosystem, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence as we continue to scale our global payment infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Merchant Settlements: Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly settlement and reconciliation processes. Ensure all transaction approvals align with internal policies and regulatory standards.

  • Chargeback Management: Investigate and resolve disputes in compliance with payment network regulations. Implement proactive strategies to minimize chargeback rates and mitigate fraud risk.

  • Risk & Compliance: Enforce robust operational controls to prevent fraud. Maintain detailed fraud incident reports and ensure full compliance with regional and industry-specific regulatory requirements.

  • Reporting & Analysis: Generate and interpret metrics on settlement processing, chargeback statistics, and refund trends. Provide actionable insights to senior management to drive strategic decision-making.

  • Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to streamline settlement workflows. Identify opportunities for automation and technological innovation to enhance overall operational effectiveness.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (Advanced degree preferred).

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in settlements and chargeback processing within the payments or fintech industry.

  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of payment processing systems and chargeback regulations. High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Advanced Excel, with the ability to manage and analyze large datasets.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into strategic improvements.

  • Leadership: Proven experience in motivating teams and managing complex projects within a cross-functional environment.

  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders ranging from senior executives to engineering teams.
