Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Senior Accountant to lead our financial operations in Abuja. In this role, you will be the cornerstone of our financial integrity, responsible for high-level reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic fiscal oversight. We need a professional who does more than just "balance the books"—you will provide the financial insights and control frameworks necessary to drive our business forward.

Requirements:

• Financial Reporting: Oversee the end-to-end preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and compliant with relevant accounting standards.

• Fiscal Oversight: Manage complex reconciliations (bank and ledger), oversee accounts payable/receivable cycles, and maintain rigorous oversight of payroll and general cash flow activities.

• Compliance & Audit: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits. Ensure all tax filings and statutory deductions (PAYE, VAT, WHT, etc.) are executed flawlessly and on time.

• Strategic Analysis: Conduct deep-dive financial analysis to provide management with actionable insights on budget performance, cost optimization, and operational efficiency.

• System Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve our existing accounting systems and internal controls to minimize risk and maximize operational efficiency.

• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of precision, accountability, and continuous professional growth.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, with a proven track record in a senior or lead accounting capacity.

• Professional Certification: Highly desirable credentials include ACA, ACCA, or ICAN.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Expertise in industry-standard accounting software.

  • Advanced mastery of Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).

• Key Competencies:

  • Deep knowledge of local tax regulations and financial reporting standards.

  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on risk mitigation and process improvement.

  • Impeccable integrity and a "zero-error" mindset regarding financial documentation.

• Additional: A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive is an added advantage. Must be a resident of Abuja.
