Job Description:
We are seeking a vigilant, proactive, and highly skilled Safety Manager to lead our Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) operations in Epe. As the custodian of our safety culture, you will be responsible for creating a zero-harm environment where our production and maintenance teams can operate with confidence and precision.
Requirements:
Policy & System Development: Design, implement, and monitor robust HSE policies and safety management systems tailored to our manufacturing environment.
Compliance Oversight: Ensure total adherence to all national health, safety, and environmental regulations and internal corporate standards.
Risk Mitigation: Conduct rigorous routine workplace inspections, hazard identification, risk assessments, and safety audits.
Incident Management: Lead thorough incident investigations, identify root causes, and drive the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Training & Awareness: Lead safety induction programs, technical training sessions, and continuous awareness campaigns to maintain a high level of vigilance.
Operational Safety: Enforce the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure safe work practices are standard during all production phases.
Emergency Preparedness: Coordinate regular emergency drills and develop site-wide response plans.
Reporting: Manage all HSE reporting, safety statistics, and necessary regulatory documentation.
Collaborative Culture: Partner with production and maintenance leads to embed safety into every process and foster a proactive, high-engagement safety culture.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
Experience: 5–7 years of proven HSE experience, preferably in manufacturing. Previous experience in furniture or wood-processing industries is a distinct advantage.
Professional Certification: Possession of NEBOSH, IOSH, ISPON, OSHA, or equivalent professional certifications is highly desirable.
