Job Description:

IPT PowerTech Group is seeking a highly skilled Rigger to join our Lagos operations. As a market leader in telecom infrastructure and managed services across Africa and the Middle East, our riggers are the backbone of our field operations. This role is designed for a "Tower & Power Specialist", someone who can safely navigate heights to install critical telecom equipment, solar panels, and power systems.

Your mission is to execute precision installations and maintenance on high-altitude structures and industrial sites. You will be responsible for the entire rigging lifecycle: from assembling steel sections and mounting antennas to installing energy-efficient hybrid power systems. Requirements:

1. Tower & Structural Installation

• High-Altitude Rigging: Climb and work on telecom towers (monopoles, guyed, and lattice) to install, align, and maintain antennas, microwave dishes, and RF cables.

• Structural Assembly: Assist in the physical assembly and hoisting of steel structural components for new site builds and upgrades.

• Torque & Tension: Ensure all bolts, stays, and structural supports are tensioned to engineering specifications to maintain tower integrity.

2. Power & Renewable Energy Integration

• Hybrid Systems Deployment: Support the installation of specialized batteries, energy-efficient power systems, and solar PV arrays at telecom sites.

• Cable Management: Route and secure power and fiber optic cables from the ground-level power systems up the tower structure with precision and neatness.

• Load Hoisting: Manage the lifting of heavy power equipment (generators, battery racks, and enclosures) using specialized pulleys, winches, and cranes.

3. HSE & Asset Stewardship

• Safety Sovereignty: Maintain 100% adherence to Fall Protection and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols, ensuring a "Zero-Accident" culture.

• Gear Inspection: Conduct daily inspections of climbing harnesses, lanyards, ropes, and lifting tackle to identify wear or defects.

• Site Documentation: Complete rigging reports and site logs to document installation heights, equipment serial numbers, and maintenance actions.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Relevant technical vocational training or trade test certifications.

• Experience: Proven experience as a Rigger, specifically within Telecom Infrastructure, Power, or Industrial sectors.

• Industry Context: Prior experience with IPT PowerTech or similar international energy/telecom providers is a significant advantage.

Core Competencies

• Climbing Proficiency: Must be comfortable and certified to work at significant heights (up to 100m+).

• Technical Aptitude: Ability to read basic engineering drawings and follow technical installation manuals for antennas and power systems.

• Physical Stamina: High level of fitness required for climbing and manual handling in outdoor Lagos environments.
