Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Resident Engineer to provide authoritative on-site leadership for our large-scale highway construction projects. This is a "double-impact" role: you will serve as the primary technical decision-maker for engineering execution while simultaneously acting as the Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) Supervisor. You will be responsible for ensuring that complex structural designs are translated into physical reality with 100% fidelity to specifications, all while managing the safety and flow of public traffic. If you are a COREN-registered veteran with over 12 years of experience and a reputation for uncompromising quality and safety, we want you at the center of our infrastructure mission.

Requirements:

1. Engineering Oversight & Technical Leadership

• Technical Custodianship: Interpret and implement complex construction drawings and method statements, ensuring every layer of the highway—from sub-base to wearing course—meets engineering standards.

• On-Site Decision Making: Take decisive action on technical challenges to maintain project momentum without compromising structural integrity.

• Quality & Quantity Validation: Conduct and validate precise site measurements and quantities, ensuring progress reports reflect actual work done for accurate cost control.

2. Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) & Safety

• Traffic Management Leadership: As the WZTC Supervisor, you will lead the implementation of traffic management plans, ensuring the safety of both the site workforce and the motoring public.

• Safety Enforcement: Enforce rigorous Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards, coordinating traffic personnel and minimizing disruption to road users.

• Incident Prevention: Conduct safety meetings and lead incident investigations, ensuring a "zero-harm" culture across the project site.

3. Workforce Coordination & Stakeholder Liaison

• Operational Command: Provide direct supervision to Site Engineers, Foremen, and technicians, fostering a high-performance culture on the ground.

• Stakeholder Synergy: Serve as the primary on-site link between Project Managers, consultants, and government stakeholders, ensuring transparent reporting and smooth handover processes.

• Progress Reporting: Deliver detailed daily, weekly, and monthly briefings that identify risks, milestones, and resource optimization opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Pedigree

• Registration: COREN Registered Engineer (Mandatory).

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

• Experience: 12–15 years of post-qualification experience, with a proven track record in major highway construction.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of highway specifications, contract documents (e.g., FIDIC), and EHS regulations.
