Job Description:
1. Institutional Leadership & Academic Strategy
Strategic Revival: Lead the operationalization and strategic direction of the Africapitalism Institute, ensuring its prominence in the global research landscape.
Curriculum Development: Design Africapitalism-focused curricula and learning frameworks for universities, executive education, and policy institutions.
Knowledge Production: Produce flagship publications, including white papers, policy briefs, and the definitive "Annual Africapitalism Report."
2. Research Design & Econometric Excellence
Conceptual Design: Lead high-quality studies on SMEs, job creation, and inclusive growth, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative academic standards.
Advanced Analysis: Apply econometric and statistical mixed-method approaches to analyze the Foundation’s proprietary data and external pan-African datasets.
Evidence Generation: Translate complex data findings into practical, actionable insights for policymakers, global investors, and development partners.
3. Advocacy & Sustainability
Policy Engagement: Build and manage high-level relationships with think tanks, multilateral institutions, and academic bodies.
Resource Mobilization: Contribute to the Institute’s sustainability through grant writing, commissioned research projects, and strategic academic partnerships.
Mentorship: Elevate the internal research capabilities of the Foundation, ensuring a culture of evidence-based decision-making.
Requirements:
Professional History: Minimum of 10 years in academic, policy, or applied research.
Methodological Mastery: Proven experience in designing complex surveys, managing large datasets, and conducting advanced econometric analysis.
Communication: Exceptional academic writing skills with a portfolio of published work.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Master’s degree with a robust research record; PhD is highly preferred.
Disciplines: Economics, Development Economics, Public Policy, or Statistics.
Current Status: A recent or current academic appointment at a reputable university or research institution is highly desirable.
Technical Stack: Proficiency in Stata, SPSS, or equivalent statistical software.
