QA/QC Materials Officer | [Company Name]

Job Summary [Company Name] is seeking a meticulous and technically sound QA/QC Materials Officer to oversee the integrity of our supply chain. You will be responsible for ensuring that every component, spare part, and raw material procured meets the rigid specifications and safety standards of the Oil & Gas industry. By serving as the technical bridge between our Procurement Team, Logistics, and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), you will play a vital role in preventing sub-standard material entry and ensuring operational continuity.


Key Responsibilities

Technical Inspection & Verification

  • Inbound Inspection: Conduct physical inspections and technical verifications of materials received to ensure they align perfectly with engineering specifications.

  • PO Validation: Review and confirm that Purchase Orders (POs) match the technical material data sheets and project requirements before procurement finalization.

  • Non-Conformance Management: Identify defects or deviations in materials and coordinate with logistics and procurement to resolve quality-related issues or returns promptly.

OEM & Vendor Liaison

  • Certification Validation: Liaise directly with manufacturers and OEMs to validate product quality, Mill Test Reports (MTRs), and relevant safety certifications.

  • Supplier Monitoring: Evaluate and monitor supplier performance, providing data-driven feedback to the Procurement Manager to drive continuous improvement in the vendor pool.

  • Global Standards: Ensure all materials comply with international industry standards (e.g., API, ASME, ASTM, ISO) and local regulatory requirements.

Documentation & Quality Governance

  • Quality Procedures: Develop and implement robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the inspection of incoming materials.

  • Reporting: Maintain an organized digital and physical archive of all inspection reports, quality checks, and certificates.

  • Technical Advice: Report findings and provide expert recommendations to the Procurement Manager regarding material suitability and vendor reliability.

Requirements:

  • Detail-Oriented: Ability to spot minute discrepancies between technical drawings and physical products.

  • Communication: Excellent negotiation and engagement skills for high-level interaction with international OEMs and vendors.

  • Analytical Thinking: Capability to interpret complex material certifications and test results.

  • Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work seamlessly across the procurement, logistics, and operations departments.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Material, or Metallurgical), Materials Science, or a related technical field.

  • Experience: 2–3 years of proven experience in QA/QC or materials inspection.

  • Industry Preference: Direct experience within the Oil & Gas sector is highly preferred.

  • Standards Knowledge: Strong familiarity with QA/QC standards and material specifications common in energy infrastructure.
