Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Purchase Excellence Manager to spearhead procurement operations at our Ajaokuta facility. This is a critical leadership role that sits at the intersection of technical engineering and commercial strategy. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, optimizing inventory levels through rigorous data analysis, and driving cost-efficiency without compromising the quality of our manufacturing inputs. Requirements:

  • Techno-Commercial Leadership: Leverage your engineering background to deeply understand our manufacturing inventory. You will manage re-order levels, forecast demand, and ensure that our technical specifications and quality parameters are consistently met.

  • Supplier Governance: Engage directly with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and key suppliers. You will be responsible for managing relationship health, conducting formal supplier audits, and ensuring all parties adhere to agreed-upon commitment dates.

  • Procurement Efficiency: Drive the "PR-to-PO-to-Receipt" lifecycle. You will work cross-functionally to eliminate bottlenecks, ensuring that internal stakeholders receive their materials within agreed-upon lead and cycle times.

  • Cost Innovation: Actively seek out alternative materials and innovative sourcing strategies to drive significant cost savings. You will be expected to propose and implement solutions that reduce waste and improve our bottom line.

  • Performance Reporting: Maintain rigorous analytical standards to track procurement KPIs, vendor performance, and inventory health.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Essential for the technical scope of this role).

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a high-paced manufacturing or procurement environment.

  • Technical & Analytical Proficiency: Strong computer skills combined with a "techno-commercial" mindset—you should be as comfortable in a factory meeting as you are with an Excel dashboard.

  • Key Competencies:

    • Strategic Sourcing: Proven track record in contract negotiation, vendor management, and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives.

    • Leadership: Experience in managing and developing procurement teams; you should have a track record of mentoring staff.

    • Numerical Rigor: Exceptional ability to interpret data, manage complex re-order points, and present actionable financial insights.

    • Communication: High-level stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing internal teams and external suppliers alike.

Salary

N650,000 Monthly.
