Job Description:
We are seeking an elite Principal Pipeline Engineer to provide high-level technical expertise and strategic leadership for the HA & HB-Buko projects. You will be the technical authority for all pipeline engineering activities, safeguarding design integrity throughout the project lifecycle from conceptualization and FEED through to construction, installation, and commissioning. This role requires a subject matter expert capable of translating complex global standards into local practice, driving technical innovation, and mentoring the next generation of engineers to ensure the success of this mission-critical energy infrastructure.
Requirements:
Technical Authority: Provide specialist knowledge in subsea pipeline engineering. Translate guidelines into practice, solve unique technical challenges, and recommend solutions that directly impact project performance and operational integrity.
Full-Cycle Design Management: Lead the delivery of full pipeline design scopes. Supervise wall thickness selection, on-bottom stability, thermal expansion, lateral buckling, walking analysis, and rigid spool/jumper design.
Strategic Integration: Act as the interface between engineering disciplines to achieve project delivery goals. Provide pipeline analysis support and technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams, designers, and junior staff.
Execution Excellence: Manage pipeline engineering deliverables, including feasibility reports, detailed design reports, and equipment specifications. Oversee the production of calculations, procedures, and bid evaluations.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Serve as a subject matter expert in dealings with external agencies, suppliers, and JV partners. Manage tactical/strategic relationships and balance competing interests to ensure project continuity.
Mentorship & Quality Assurance: Lead, train, and mentor junior and graduate engineers. Supervise the QA/QC process for all FEED and detailed design deliverables.
Safety & Compliance: Champion a "zero accident/zero incident" culture. Participate in HAZID/HAZOP reviews and ensure all designs meet international regulatory requirements and best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
Experience: Minimum of 14 years of intensive experience within the oil and gas industry.
Preferred: Hands-on experience with offshore platforms, FPSOs, or onshore terminals.
Technical Mastery:
Extensive knowledge of international engineering standards, HSSE frameworks, and subsea pipeline design codes.
Expertise in mechanical line sizing, integrity calculations, and thermo-mechanical analysis.
Proficiency in route selection, crossing design, and installation analysis.
