Job Description:

We are seeking an expert, results-driven Portfolio Manager to join our team in Lagos. You will be responsible for the strategic construction and management of diversified client portfolios, translating complex market insights into actionable, risk-adjusted investment strategies. As a trusted advisor to high-net-worth and institutional clients, you will be expected to deliver consistent performance, maintain impeccable regulatory compliance, and contribute to our firm’s thought leadership in the Nigerian and global financial markets.

Requirements:

  • Portfolio Strategy: Construct, manage, and rebalance portfolios across equities, fixed income, forex, and alternative assets, ensuring alignment with client mandates and investment policy statements.

  • Performance Optimization: Monitor performance against benchmarks, conducting rigorous macro and market analysis to execute tactical allocation decisions that drive consistent returns.

  • Client Advisory: Serve as a primary investment advisor, delivering compelling performance reports and clearly communicating investment rationales to diverse audiences.

  • Risk & Compliance: Proactively manage market, liquidity, and concentration risks. Ensure all portfolios remain strictly compliant with SEC/NGX regulations and internal firm guidelines.

  • Thought Leadership: Produce high-quality research notes, market commentary, and investment perspectives to enhance the firm’s intellectual capital.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with operations, compliance, and client services teams to ensure a seamless and world-class investment experience.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1) Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.

    • Note: An MBA or MSc in Finance is an added advantage.

  • Experience: 7–12 years of progressive experience in investment management, asset management, or high-level financial services.

  • Professional Designation: CFA Charterholder or actively pursuing the designation.

  • Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Nigerian capital markets (SEC, NGX). Exposure to global markets and cross-asset strategies is highly desirable.

  • Track Record: Demonstrable history of managing portfolios and delivering measurable, consistent investment performance.
