Job Description:
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Pharmacist to join our healthcare team.
- In this role, you will be responsible for the safe dispensing of medications, clinical screening, and providing expert pharmaceutical care.
- You will play a critical role in patient safety by reviewing physician directives to detect therapeutic incompatibilities and ensuring strict adherence to pharmaceutical laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Pharmaceutical Review & Compounding: Interpret and review physicians’ directives to compound and dispense medications accurately. You must proactively detect therapeutic incompatibilities or potential drug interactions to ensure patient safety.
- Patient Counseling & Instruction: Provide clear, professional guidance to customers on dosage, administration, and potential side effects of prescribed medications.
- Clinical Medical Services: Conduct health and wellness screenings, including administering immunizations, monitoring blood pressure, measuring temperature, and performing blood sugar checks.
- Inventory & Controlled Substances: Oversee the pharmacy's operational requirements, including verifying order entries, maintaining rigorous records of controlled substances, and managing the removal of expired or damaged inventory.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all local and national legal rules, regulations, and procedures governing pharmaceutical practice to maintain pharmacy licensing and safety standards.
- Record Management: Maintain accurate and confidential customer health records while ensuring a sterile, safe, and organized working environment.
- Clinical Support: Stay updated on the latest advances in pharmaceutical science to provide contemporary health advice and support administrative pharmacy tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- Full registration with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN)
- Possession of a valid and current PCN practising licence
- Proven experience in pharmacy operations/Regulatory compliance
- Detailed understanding and knowledge of dosage requirements and administration, chemical compounds, and pharmaceutical brands.
- In-depth knowledge of MS Office suite and Pharmacy information systems
- Great organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Integrity and compassion.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
- 7 - 10 years experience as a pharmacist.
